MORE ABOUT THE PROGRAM
Multiple time sessions are designed to provide the girls the opportunity to learn and develop alongside other girls their own age. Our weekly activities are fun and engaging while promoting skill development. The program also offers enough individual instruction to be well suited for all age and skill levels. Girls’ Clubs meets each week from May 4th – June 8th and then we encourage the girls to join us on the Range and Par 3 Course for our Friday Evening Play Nights. These evenings are a great opportunity for the girls to practice their skills and have the chance to try them out on the course!
Our Parent/Daughter Event is a fun family event held before the Wind-Up Summer Starts Barbeque. The tournament is a modified scramble format and includes many skill competitions so that all the girls have the opportunity to show their skills and win fun prizes! This format takes the pressure off head-to-head competition and places more emphasis on fun, enjoyment and celebrating the skills we have learned.
MAIN FEATURES OF THE PROGRAM
Instruction component of Girls' Club is from Golf Canada’s Future Links Learn to Play program.
A safe fulfilling introduction to golf.
Suitable for ages 7-16.
Recognizes skill improvement.
Girls will have the opportunity to learn to play golf, meet other girls their own age and experience competition in a non-threatening environment.
Girls are more likely to register in a golf program that is for girls only, than a program that is open to both genders.
Girls' Club is part of Future Links, Canada’s National Junior Golf Development Program designed to “Ensure the Future of Golf”. Conducted by Golf Canada in partnership with the PGA of Canada and Canada’s provincial golf associations, the program consists of multi-level instruction and rewards, clinics, camps, support materials and special programs to raise awareness of junior golf and address the issues of accessibility and affordability.
The Girls’ Club was developed to address the huge discrepancy between the numbers of young girls playing golf compared to the number of young boys. It aims not merely to attract girls to the game but also to help retain them longer.
